Do No Harm and FAIR have filed a federal lawsuit challenging two Arkansas laws that mandate race quotas in gubernatorial appointments to state licensing boards.
The laws require that at least one member of the boards be chosen on the basis of race. Do No Harm and FAIR are challenging the racial mandates to the Occupational Therapy Examining Committee and the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling.
FAIR believes that racial quotas are not only illegal, but also a violation of the principle of our common humanity, because they arbitrarily group people by skin color and other physical characteristics, rather than acknowledging the individuality of each person.
