Meeting Information:
"America's Cultural Revolution" by Christopher Rufo
The FAIR LA Book Club will return in September 2023 with a discussion of Christopher Rufo's new book America's Cultural Revolution: How the Radical Left Conquered Everything. The discussion will be led by FAIR South Bay leader, Cindy Stokes. As an investigative journalist and Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, Rufo has shed a public spotlight on the business and pedagogy of leftist Critical Theory in K-12 schools, enough to attract the ire and even denialism of its fiercest defenders. In this book, Rufo goes even further, documenting the radical left's ideological history and strategies, which for decades were circulated only in erudite academic circles but which became highly visible in the tour de force that accompanied the pandemic and summer uprisings of 2020. Rufo seeks to answer three questions with respect to today's left: Where do their ideas come from? How did they achieve power? And why do they suddenly seem so dominant in American life?
