FAIR Dane County Winter Conference: Talk and Q&A with Daniel Buck plus presentations by FAIR Diversity and Grassroots Leadership Academy

Join us on February 5th for the FAIR Dane County Winter Conference
12:30pm – Doors open
1pm – Grassroots Leadership Academy: A workshop on public speaking and grassroots organization. Learn how to better advocate in your local school district, and more.
2:30pm – Coffee Break (provided)
3pm – FAIR Diversity (https://www.fairdiversity.org/): A look at FAIR’s non-divisive, pro-human approach to diversity training. FAIR Diversity training programs are available for workplaces and schools.
5pm – Break for Supper (There are many close food/dining options in nearby Middleton.)
6:30 pm – Daniel Buck: presentation and Q&A, focusing on the difference between traditional, progressive, and critical pedagogy. He’ll examine a few examples of various curricula in practice, and give some advice for how parents can positively pressure schools into meaningful curricular and instructional change.
Daniel Buck is a teacher and senior visiting fellow at the Fordham Institute, a Washington D.C.-based, education think tank. He received his master’s in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his writing can be found at National Review, City Journal, and Quillette. He is currently writing a book about the philosophy of education with John Catt Educational.
